My Love Dare Journal: Day 22: Love is faithful

I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness. Then you will know the Lord. —Hosea 2:20

TODAY’S DARE
Love is a choice, not a feeling. It is an initiated action, not a knee-jerk reaction. Choose today to be committed to love even if your spouse has lost most of their interest in receiving it. Say to them today in words similar to these, “I love you. Period. I choose to love you even if you don’t love me in return.”

Journal Questions:
why is this kind of love and possible without the love of Christ beating in your heart? How does his presence within you enable you to love, even when it's primarily one-sided?

Fireproof - Love Dare Challenge

For 40 days we will challenge ourselves to draw closer to each other and to God. My boyfriend and I have been seeing a Couple's Therapist once a week for almost a year. It has been more of a struggle to stay "on solid ground" rather than an incline forward, growing and gaining ground. Him and I have agreed to do the 40 day Love Dare together. We saw Fireproof the movie last year (after I asked him many times to watch it). We purchased the Fireproof Your Marriage DVD & workbooks as well, but are starting out with the 40 Day Love Dare first.

10/14/16 was the night we planned to do the Homework from last night Therapy session. We went over the 'Saving Your Marriage Before it Starts" workbooks and actually did Quiz 2 together. We also discussed the Love Dare and he agreed to do it each day.

I jumped right in with Day 1 that next day, as I do with most everything. I tend to take preventative and proactive steps, while he tends to be reactive. The next week at Therapy, he hadn't started or done any quizzes. The Therapist asked me to stay on hold for Day 5 until he caught up. (ugh waiting for him to catch up has been the bur in my saddle all along). LOL Day 1 is Love is Patient....
